New family member

We got a new family member a while ago. My daughter wanted her own cat since my two cats really are mine. They like her but they always pick me before her which could be because I raised them lol. Anyway we found a little kitten that was 15 weeks and we went and got him. The previous owner had fed him with cream and ham and shit like that and I was all "Nu-uh, not gonna happen in my house". His stomach was a bit messed up and it wouldn't pass. Then last week he suddenly started throwing up also and on the evening that day he was in very bad shape. I got really worried. A kitten isn't supposed to just lay on the couch and hardly lift it's head. I was so worried that I sat with him the whole night and gave him water every half hour. Around midnight I realized he needed more than that so I made my own re-hydration fluid. It was water, honey and salt. Luckily I just got a new jar of honey from the beehives. After 4 hours of that every 30 minutes he suddenly came around and walked around a little and went potty. He was feeling better in the morning but I took him to the vet anyway and when we got there he had high fever and the vet said that I probably saved his life doing what I did that night. There also was blood in his feces. The vet thought he had worm and needed deworming. The previous owners said they done that but when I asked afterwards they said they'd only done it once right before we picked him up and that's not enough. The vet gave him medicine and deworming. Now it's been a week and his stomach is still not completely well. I have to give him special food and keep the other cats food away from him. A bit tricky but worth it because he's such a little sweetheart. I'm sure he will get well soon. At least I hope so.
